In this project, I collaborated with my talented team of developers to design the BlastText System, an advanced SMS messaging platform. My primary responsibilities were focused on the UI/UX design and the creation of the system’s manual. The software development, hardware setup, and networking aspects of the project were expertly handled by my skilled workmates.
The objective of this project was to develop a user-friendly platform for efficiently managing bulk SMS communication, featuring advanced functionalities like message scheduling, demographic filtering, and dynamic tagging. I designed an intuitive user interface and authored a comprehensive manual to help users navigate and fully utilize the system.

Background
The BlastText System is designed to streamline SMS communication, particularly for organizations that need to send bulk, personalized messages. It includes features like contact management, SMS scheduling, and advanced filtering. The system allows users to target specific demographics or contact groups for more efficient messaging. My role was to create a seamless user experience, ensuring both administrators and regular users could navigate the platform easily. The manual I created provides detailed guidance, making it accessible for all users to take full advantage of the system.
Research & Planning
Worked closely with the development team to understand the system's key features and requirements. Analyzed the user flows and features such as contact management, filtering, and message scheduling to inform the design process.
Design & Implementation
Designed the UI in Figma, focusing on making the platform intuitive for both administrators and general users. Integrated features like contact directories, message templates, and dynamic filtering options, ensuring a clean, straightforward user interface.
Review & Deployment
Conducted usability testing and worked with the developers to implement any necessary adjustments based on feedback. Created the BlastText System Manual, providing step-by-step instructions for both the software and hardware setup to ensure users could easily navigate and use the platform.
The final design delivered an easy-to-use interface and a comprehensive user manual. Key features of the software included:
Group & Single Messaging
Users can send messages to either individual contacts or entire groups, using dynamic message templates that allow for personalization (e.g., inserting first names).
Demographic Filtering
Provides powerful filtering options to target specific groups based on demographics, such as age, gender, or area code, allowing for more personalized outreach.
SMS Scheduling
Enables users to schedule SMS messages for future delivery, ensuring timely communication.
Contact Management
A robust contact directory that allows users to add, edit, and manage contacts, as well as organize them by tags and demographics like gender and area code.
Tagging System
Allows users to assign tags to contacts for easy grouping and management, making it simpler to target specific contact segments.
